Booking each tour

MIZKAN MUSEUM has 3 tours, Full Museum Tour, Short Museum Tour, and Social Studies Tour.

  • Viewing requires an advanced booking. Please apply before visiting the museum.
  • In the full museum tour, an attending guide service is available in Japanese only.
  • However, you can view an explanation in English.

Please note that visitors under 6 years old, and those in need of assistance are welcome to visit the museum but prior booking is required.

Full Museum Tour

In this tour you can spend time looking at all of the zones of MIM.
You can experience making My Ajipon (one of our top brands) as well as learning about Mizkan's history and vinegar production in both the Edo period and in modern times.

* Note that the guide will join the tour after free time in the Room of Earth.

Short Museum Tour

In this tour you can look at all areas of the Room of Earth zone.
You can experience traditional vinegar manufacturing that has succeeded through many generations, and take a closer look at vinegar making in both the Edo period and present day.

  • You can book online using the calendar (up to 2 months in advance).
  • We kindly request that tour agencies only book once the number of people has been decided.

  • Where required, you may be asked to present your booking confirmation email from us.

Please note when participating in tours

  • Smoking is prohibited within tour areas.
  • Any accompanied pets are not allowed when entering MIM.
  • Bringing food and drinks (except bottled drinks) into the museum is not allowed.
  • We kindly request that you avoid using baby carriages during the Full Museum Tour (leave them at the front).
  • Please note that the tour course includes several flights of stairs, both up and down.
  • We recommend wearing walking shoes as you will be walking quite a lot.
  • People who did not book in advance may be not allowed to enter the museum.
  • People who are under the influence of alcohol may be not allowed to enter the museum.
